To win this challenge, Mazda will have to compete against other world renowned car manufacturers.
An already particularly famous sport roadster, owner of several Guinness records, the Mazda MX-5 GT will once again put itself to the test. With a very active fan base, it is the “sport spirit” of the Mazda MX-5 GT that makes it one of kind. With this competition, Mazda is determined to match its supporters’ strongest expectations.
Due to its exceptional balance between light body and powerful motorisation, this roadster benefits from a strong road holding that made its reputation. In addition, the Mazda MX-5 GT’s performances will be enhanced for this competition. The Jota Sport’s team succeeded in making the car even lighter than it already is, by removing several components from the passenger compartment and by modifying its body.
This special model will now reach a boundaries pushing weight of 1875 pounds. Furthermore, improvements to its motor and a 6 speed sequential gearbox will turn this model into a 275 horsepower racing car, allowing it to reach up to 160 miles/hour, going from 0 to 90 miles/hour in 3 seconds!
